Some time ago, we reported the superbly patriotic success of a trio of Nigerian ladies who made history by being the first Africans to qualify for the winter Olympics, in the Bobsled sport category.
Well, one of them, Simi Adeagbo, has finally and actually made this history happen by being the first Nigerian, African and Black female athele to be represented in the sport of Skeleton at the presently ongoing 2018 winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
And she’s making headlines across the world, as CNN also caught the bug of this proudly Nigerian history maker!
She herself elatedly wrote on her Instagram page:
“It’s official! I’m an Olympian! I’m honored to be the 1st Nigerian, African & Black female athlete to be represented in the sport of Skeleton at the Winter Olympics! Faith has turned my God-given dream into a reality! Thx everyone for all ur love & support. Next stop is Pyeongchang! 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🏅🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💃🏿💃🏿🔥#breakingbarriers #historyinthemaking #bsfnigeria #godissogood 📸@candicewardphotography”
